Beach Destination Wedding With A Cute Golden Retriever

We love when your furry friend gets to participate in your special day. They are your best friend, after all, and your best friends should get to celebrate with you, don't they? Los Cabos has many pet friendly hotels and private villas, and if your furry friend has no other reasons not to come, you'll be happy you had her with you.

Almost a year ago we were part of Romana and Mariano's wedding day, and it was so wonderful to see their golden retriever Zlatka (meaning Goldilocks in Slovenian), be their flower girl and part of their wedding ceremony. As you can see from their lovely wedding photographs by Chris + Lynn Photographers, Zlatka enjoyed being part of their wedding day.

Lazy Gourmet Catering & Events team created an exquisite menu for the couple. Their guests joined them in the celebration of their marriage from Slovenia, Serbia, Australia, Mexico, United States and Canada. Many of them were the first time in Mexico or Baja, so Romana and Mariano wanted to share with them some of their favorite Mexican dishes.

We started with traditional tortilla soup, julienne of tortillas, avocado, cotija cheese, guajillo chile, cream, and coriander. For starters, we offered chilitos en nogada with walnut sauce and pomegranate and coriander radish, and vegetarian chilitos rellenos. The salad consisted of grilled nopal, verdolagas, fresh farm cheese, red onion, guajillo vinaigrette, and caramelized pepitas.

For the main dish, we prepared chicken in mole sauce with figs and jamaica reduction, accompanied with Mexican red rice, black beans and fried plantains. The second main dish option was fresh catch from the Sea Of Cortez with pineapple and papaya sauce, cilantro, and lime, accompanied with cauliflower puree, roasted poblanos, and seasonal organic vegetables from nearby village Miraflores.

Their wedding cake was scrumptious red velvet cake, garnished with gold dust.

It was such a pleasure being part of Romana & Mariano's wedding ceremony, and to celebrate with everyone dearest to them, including their Goldilocks.
